Inside Line Promotions – COLUMBUS, Miss. (March 16, 2021) – The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season gets underway this weekend for SawBlade.com sponsored Scott Bogucki.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, hosts the 48th annual Spring Nationals on Friday and Saturday.

“I’m glad we start at Devil’s Bowl,” Bogucki said. “I run good there so hopefully we can have a really, really good weekend to start the ASCS season.”

Bogucki has been successful at the unique half-mile oval, where he has produced at least one top 10 in ASCS competition during each of the last four years. He charged from 20th to ninth in 2017 before scoring his first career triumph at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in 2018. Bogucki added a 10th-place performance that year before producing a pair of seventh-place showings in 2019. He finished seventh and second, respectively, at the track last year.

Additionally, Bogucki earned a career-best Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions result of third last year.

“I struggled the first couple of years there,” he said. “It’s one of those places I wanted to beat and I feel like we now have a handle on it. Every time I turn up I have speed whether it’s a 360 or a 410 race.”

Bogucki made his season debut last Friday at Magnolia Motor Speedway with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. He qualified 29 th quickest, but rebounded by hustling from eighth to fifth place in a heat race. That locked him into the A Main, which he didn’t get to start because of a cooling problem.

“We were disappointed in qualifying, but I was too cautious,” he said. “Being too tense with those guys is the difference between 15th and 30th. We were good in the heat race and got by Kasey (Kahne) for the final transfer. We went after Wayne (Johnson) and pulled a slider a lap too early so we finished fifth. Then I had a cooling issue that we couldn’t get rectified. When I went out for the A Main it happened in the form-up lap. I pulled off to not hurt it any further.”
