Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Nov. 25, 2019) – Scott Bogucki and his SawBlade.com backed sprint car team took huge steps forward in 2019, scoring three ASCS National Tour wins and a fifth-place finish in the championship standings. He said :

“If you look at the growth of this team from last year to this year it’s just phenomenal, it’s not where I want us to be, but I’m committed to use 2019 as a stepping stone to bigger and better things in 2020.”

Bogucki was the ASCS National Tour Rookie of the Year in 2018 and finished eighth in points after scoring one victory. A year later the statistics improved.

“To get three ASCS National Tour wins this year to go with 11 top fives and 20 top 10s, just incredible. We went from eighth in points last year to fifth, but I feel we had a top-three team if you eliminate a couple of bad nights that were out of our control. We had a month there toward the end of the year where I was a little nicked up and we struggled. But to win the last race of the year was a huge boost heading into the offseason.”

Putting everything into perspective, Bogucki was a one-man show for the most part driving the rig to and from races, working on the car, washing the car, setting the car up and driving the race car.

“I had a really good buddy from Australia, Jack Mccarthy, come on board at the beginning of the year and he was a tremendous help, but circumstances forced him to return home sooner than planned. I got a lot of help this year from Brian and Jean Mueller and their family. I can’t thank all of them enough. But a lot of times it was just me driving down the road from track to track. It’s exhausting, but this is what I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. I’m living my dream and I couldn’t be happier.”

Another accomplishment Bogucki is proud of was his performance at both the 410 and 360 Knoxville Nationals last summer.

“It was our second consecutive year in the A Main for the 360 Nationals. Unfortunately we lost an engine while sitting in 12th. We only missed out on the 410 A Main by three positions in a field of drivers you only dream about. I’m getting more comfortable racing at Knoxville. That place is so demanding and challenging and the more laps you can get there the better you will be.”

The 2019 season marked the second straight year SawBlade.com was the title sponsor on Bogucki’s No. 28.

“I can’t thank SawBlade.com enough. They are an incredible sponsor and friend to this team and they produce THE best product out there. We have been talking about next year. I want so bad to get them more wins and a championship.

“When I say this team it is exactly that, a team effort. Without ALL my sponsors, including Scottie and the Dissolvalloy team, quite simply our USA family, we couldn’t do this. Lee from Ostrich Race Engines is the best in the business and an incredible friend. And the following sponsors have had our back since Day 1 and we are truly so very thankful for Smith Titanium, KW Motorsports, Pac Torsion Bars, Maxim Chassis, Rod End Supply, Weld Wheels, JJS Mechanical Inc., HRP Wings, Momentum Suspension, Porker Transport, Howard Law, and Findley and Sons. Also, a huge thank you to the ASCS Family and RacinBoys.”

Since the season ended, Bogucki has purchased a new trailer and has been busy getting everything ready for 2020. He will be heading back to Australia soon, which always causes him a little concern.

“I have to try and fit three months of work into a little over a month. When I get back to the USA in February I always feel like I’m behind because the other teams have been here working. But having done this now for three years, I know exactly what I need to do before I leave and what I have to do when I get back.”

SEASON STATS –

37 races, 3 wins, 11 top fives, 20 top 10s, 23 top 15s, 27 top 20s
